GRA Driving Advantage

Sunday 28th January 2007
It's the first event of the year. GRA managed to organize their Driving Advantage Course 1. Instructors Ivan and Ian managed to give everyone tips on how to drive better with their own vehicle. Even with the heat everyone managed to concentrate and listen to all the lessons.

Overall the event was great, new faces and old faces attended the event. After the Driving Course, we had a chance to run a short Time Attack course and I managed to finish 4th out of 27 cars.

Work is just too routine now a days. Up at 4am, start at 5am, lunch at 9am, work work work work, talk, talk, talk, talk, blah blah blah blah. 2pm logout of work, finish up work, 3pm leave work, head home.

Although I would disagree if you say my job isn't interesting. But you can call it routine. Lucky for me, I have teammates and friends who are nice enough to make my day a little brighter.

A Special shout out to all of them. THANK YOU!.

Happy Birthday Edwin!

Was a nice birthday dinner for my younger brother. Close relatives and everyone in my family attended a dinner held at TGI Friday Queensbay.

First off I like the ambiance of the place, has a nice classy feel and it transports you to another world, kinda makes you forget you're on a small island. So everyone had steak on their plates, my dish had shrimp as a side dish. But overall the food was acceptable to me. For drinks I had myself TGIF's famous Ultimate Margarita, blended. mmmm.

Something else caught my attention though. This waitress that was serving our table, she had a cute and innocent face and a lovely smile. Speaks good English too, but looked kinda young. If I recall, her name was Kathryn i think that's how it's spelled. I wouldn't mind have a nice conversation with her, hehe.

Overall the whole experience was good.

When friends move forward...

Sometimes I wonder, what will happen to me in the next 5 years. What will I become?, what will life throw at me? These questions run through my mind every so often. But recently I have close friends who are getting married and moving on with their life. Makes me wonder what I am doing with my life. But I usually live life on the edge, being that certain person who looks like he wants to be left alone, wandering shopping malls and having dinner by himself. It's kinda sad if you really thing about it. But it all comes down to your own choice in life. Like my friend mentioned, You Get What You Give. Doesn't seem like I'm giving much, so I'd expect very little in return.

On the topic of marriage and tying the knot. It seems like a special moment in life, cause it's a once in a lifetime experience. It's kinda hard to imagine how people would actually decide to spend their life with that one special person. A SALUTE TO THOSE WHO HAVE FOUND THAT ONE SPECIAL PERSON. I'll drink to that. Make that a toast to all of them.

Actually today I was invited for coffee at Old Town e-gate cause high school buddy is going to get married NEXT week. Though we haven't been very close since we all left high school but we do respect one another, plus the occasional meet up at the pub for a few rounds. Although it would be a rare event for ol' friends to meet up, I appreciate the company and the friendship.

It's good to have friends who actually remember you for who you are and not what you've become. Some people never change, belive me I have a friend who is the same to me since high school. But that's just how people are, you choose what you really want. Too bad the chicks I hang out with are taken or married or just uninterested. But I still do enjoy their company from time to time. A special thank you to all of you, I'm sure you know who you are. I've also made some girls a little mad, I hope everything is cleared up between us. I wouldn't want you to have a grudge with me. Believe me, I'm a forgiving person to a certain extent.

Just so you know I'm not drunk, I just had a nice dinner with my good friend Wesley. We had japanese noodles at Yattaimura. Mmm, Mmm, the food and service is good. I would recommend heading there for dinner sometime. Knowing my best pal, he drinks every single day, so 3 bottles of Sake later, I gave up. LoL. I'm not a good drinker, seriously. Looking back in time, I just noticed that we've been friends since Primary School. That would be like 20 years ago (my jaw is wide open at this stage). I'm surprised, cause it's been that long. If you close your eyes and focus, you'd remember those good ol' times. How time flies at the blink of an eye.

Not many people know it but I really do appreciate the company when we're all together. Thanks for being there.

Dinners

Keeping myself busy after work is just as fun now a days. Lol. For the past 3 days I have been invited to 3 dinners. But it was good having to meet old friends and making some new ones plus being able to hang out after a long week before all hell breaks loose next week.

So on Wednesday, I headed to my best friend's place. Wesley's 2nd sister is married now, so we had a small dinner at his house to celebrate it. Food was excellent, another good friend Ah Koay was the chef of the night. Wow, he makes excellent sushi and all Japanese cuisine. Kudos to all of them, I really enjoyed the food that night.

On Thursday night they had the wedding dinner at this place call the Moral Uplifting Society building. It's just off Macalister road, a huge grey colored building with a hall. There were about 100 tables and damn, there was so much alcohol consumed that night. But that's a typical chinese wedding dinner. My cup of beer was never empty or half full for more than 2 mins, the refills we like automated bots coming around every 2 mins to check. At least I had good company although I don't really know everyone at the table, there were all Wesley's friends who hangs out with him regulary. Weird, they all seem to know that they have to speak to me in English. LoL. But that's not the case, I guess they learn from what they see, I only speak english to Wesley anyways. The food that was catered that night was so-so, nothing to shout about. All the typical Chinese dishes, 8 course dinner. Mix dish, Sharks Fin Soup, Fish, Chicken in Herbal soup, Vege dish and so on. Apart from that I enjoyed the company, really did. Thanks for inviting me and congratulations.

Another dinner on Friday was with my colleagues from work. The management decided to have a dinner to say thank you for helping out the other team. An effort to keep us all happy and to show that they appreciate what we've been doing. Seem fair enough, we are helping the other team out, an experience that would make you drop dead. So we went to Bali Hai at Gurney. It served Seafood! The food isn't bad, although some dishes were just tasteless and overdone with sauces. I personally enjoyed the Crab dish, I ate quite alot of that, hehe. It's nice to see everyone from other teams at the dinner too.

Here I am on a Saturday just resting away. Out.

The Return

A disappointing movie. I'm not the kind of guy to go watch a scary movie. We were suppose to go watch Pathfinder but with 12 people going to buy tickets at the very last minute, there weren't going to be tickets left. Lol. So we all voted to watch The Return with actress Sarah Michelle Geller. Everyone was kinda hyped up to watch this scary movie, the poster is scary enough to make people afraid to watch it.

Alas the storyline is just too predictable and common. Somehow it just feels dull.

Snakes On a Plane

I'm watching this movie only because Samuel L. Jackson is acting in it. The move is just a little well predictable and boring. Some of the snakes are just a little sick too. Nothing much to say about this show, watch it only if you're really really bored.

Just another Saturday

This particular weekend started on Friday around 6pm when I dozed off on the couch and woke up at 6am feeling achy all over. Isn't the first time and most probably won't be the last.

Anyways, apart from the early start to the morning. I just decided to sit down relax and reflect on my life so far. Watched 2 movies and chatted on MSN with some friends. For dinner I tried my best to get someone out but everyone was either busy or not around. Alas. I decided to just go ahead alone. So the closest place is Queens Bay Mall. It's the latest edition to malls on this island. Take MidValley & 1-Utama combined, it's really something different and lots of new brands are coming up north. Restaurants like TGIF are also opening up.

Walking the floor I wanted actually wanted to have pasta. After 10 minutes I finally decided to eat at Secret Recipe and had their Spaghetti Bolognese which isn't too bad. Then I made my way to Borders and spent around 1 hour looking through some pretty interesting books.

While I was walking back to the car I just can't help noticing people around me. Then it hit me that I'm actually out by myself on a Saturday :(

I headed to a nearby pub that my childhood friend Wesley goes to everyday. I met up with him and we just chatted till 2am. We chatted about life and what has happened and what might happen in the near future. He reminds me that I have to attend his sisters wedding dinner sometime this coming week. Well at least I have some plans planned out for dinner next week hehe.

Flightplan

Now this movie I have waited quite a while to watch. Initially I wanted to catch it at the cinema but it just didn't happen. Finally I get to watch it and well it's just an ok show to watch. Though the suspense and all was good it just lacked something.

But I noticed that Jodie Foster likes acting in movies like these. I liked Contact and some others but this was just as good.

Rob-B-Hood

I like Jackie Chan movies. I enjoy watching the action scenes which are choreographed so accurately. You've got to give a big hand to Jackie Chan who does his own stunts and the things he can do with some stuff.

Overall this movie is just a comic relief and I'm watching it for the good action. Although surprisingly the storyline isn't too bad.

The Lake House

Now this show is a definate 10/10 for me. Maybe it's just me but I felt that special connection that I think everyone would have. A soul mate, people who are suppose to be together. Makes
me wonder what is waiting around the corner.

I'm a Keanu Reeves fan, even though his acting is a little predictable. Sandra Bullock on the other hand is just beautiful in this show.

Watch this show if you have the time.

A quiet New Years Eve

Well it was a good ending to 2006. Having a few close friends for a countdown, not having to worry about getting drunk and the best parts is having some fresh air on the beach. A special thank you to everyone who has made my life special in different aspects.

So we all had some dinner and a trip to Bt. Ferringi for some CDs and DVDs. Then headed towards the beach which I personally like to head to. Quite and windy, but surprisingly there were quite a few groups there having their BBQ sessions.

2006 has some drama for me and well I'm glad I'm still around. I would like to apologize to those whom I pissed off and disappointed. I hope 2007 would be a much better year for all of us.
