The Waiter has been unmasked!

I've been reading Waiter Rant's blog for quite some time now and finally he has a book out base on his life as a waiter. I'm definately getting his book when it hits the shelves here in M'sia.

If you have the time head over to his blog : http://www.waiterrant.net

Movie Review : X-Files I want to believe

I'd like to belive that it was a good movie, but sadly it's just okay. The movie would have been much better if they followed up from the first movie or from the last episode of the series. But unfortunately it was just a normal episode turned into a movie. Ok, I'm sorry if I spoilt it for anyone but if you are expecting what lot of people were expecting, then I guess you'll be dissapointed. Although the storyline was good and the plot which was true to the X-Files series, in a movie it just didn't work. Good effort by everyone, but I think they shouldn't have wasted money on this project.

What made X-Files so popular was the UFO's the Aliens and the black oil stuff and all that, where were they? Why didn't they follow up after the series ended?

Splinter Cell : Fallout

Yet another book I've finished and it only took me 6 months! Yea, if you're wondering why it took so long to finish a book, well I get distracted easily, haha.

Anyways, I've been reading and following all the Splinter Cell books and I just love the way everything falls in place in the plot. Same goes for the video game that I also follow, it has a good storyline. But I'm pretty sure it isn't for everyone, only the hardcore Splinter Cell fan would appreciate it, I also noticed some spelling mistakes through out the book. Overall it's still good.

Paul Van Dyk @ Zouk 26th Jully 2008

This would be the 2nd time we watched, listened and dance to PVD live! Nearly a year ago sweetie and I manage to get tickets and listen to him spin songs for 3 hours. Once again he didn't fail to impress us with his mixes.

We had company along this time, Rosie and Fiona. We've got to thank Rosie for her connections that got us a superb table right above the DJ booth. Fiona who is from England, enjoyed herself right after she got off the plane, not bad for a couple of hours in Malaysia.

There isn't much to describe, you'd have to be there to really experience it, enjoy some photos below.

This was the view from our table!

Movie : The Dark Knight

When I heard that this movie was good I was expecting top notch acting and action. Sweetie and I decided to catch the Midnight movie and it was definately worth every dollar. The movie was everything I expected and more, what's more? Well the storyline was excellent!
We were even more impressed with the actors, sweetie said that Christian Bale who takes the role as Batman seemed more "in-tune" with the character compared to the first movie and I agree with that. Heath Ledger who played Batman's most famous supervillan The Joker was superb! His acting skills are actually very very good, you'd never tell that it was him if you didn't read the credits, he was a true natural and portrayed the character so well.

Movie : Hellboy 2

Much much better than the 1st show. Although I'm not a fan of the comic but I was impressed with this movie. Alot of action and followed with a good storyline it made the show worth the watch in the cinema. If you didn't enjoy the 1st movie and thought the 2nd movie would be the same, you're wrong. Go catch it.

I wonder if this will apply to other religions...

Civil servants get 40 days to perform haj

PUTRAJAYA: The public service department has clarified that Muslim civil servants have 40 days of special leave to perform the haj in Mecca.

Its corporate communication unit said the special leave is applicable only once during their service.

The statement read that according to General Orders 34 Chapter C and Government Circular No 4 of 1984, the holiday to perform the haj with full salary was already provided for.
Based on the clarification, issues on getting a special holiday to perform the haj, as had been raised recently, should not arise anymore, it stated.

Movie : Hancock

Now this was an interesting movie. I didn't expect much from the show but the storyline did surprise me and it definately made the movie worth the watch. Great special effects, superb storyline and rock solid acting from Will Smith and Charlize Theron is definately worth the trip to the cinema.

Movie : Wanted

Now here's an interesting movie to watch. There seems to be quite a lot of movies that are being made into a movie lately and I can see why, they do rake in alot of money. Big shows like The Dark Night, Incredible Hulk & Iron Man just to name a few have already made waves in the industry.

Here's another movie that was adapted from a comic, you might be asking "really?". Although this comic wasn't as big as the long time best selling comics, why? you ask, cause it's a miniseries. Personally I have never heard of this movie before it came out on the big screen. But I was impressed with the storyline and the awesome computer graphics. Needless to say it's defiantly a good watch if you have the time.

Car Review : Nissan Sylphy

Here's a car that would have been overlooked had it not been for the recent fuel hike and with the 16km per liter sign on the test drive cars. Overall the car looks pretty sleek, although the design isn't as radical as the other 2 competitors, it does however look similar to the old Cefiro.

The simple and zen like design interior is easy on learn unlike the Accord that has an overload of buttons on the dashboard. All the other electronics that are pretty much standard on cars now days were found on this model, ABS, EBD, BA. I'm not going into details on those electronics because I didn't really have a chance to test them out.

I did however get the chance to test out the performance and I was pretty impressed with what the car had to offer smooth power with lots of control. I didn't think the drive by wire technology would be so responsive.

What really caught my attention is the price which was RM122k on the road, now that's impressive for a 4-cylinder, 2 liter, DOHC car.

A busy week..indeed

Phew! Finally I have the time to actually sit and blog a little. It might not be a long post but at least it's something. Been pretty busy getting used to the new job scope and remembering people, have been running around and making decisions on what hardware to buy and all for the office.

I've also been busy training Zoey for her obedience training exam and she passed! I'll give more details when I have more time. Read more on her exam HERE.
